ZAVATSKY, Bertha Coleman, 84, formerly of 21st Street, Wheeling, died Thursday, November 1, 2001 at Heartland Lansing, OH. Bertha was born March 17, 1917 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Davis Coleman. She was a Protestant by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jack Coleman; and two sisters, Margaret Jones and Clara Zane. Surviving is a daughter, Patricia Poling and her husband Jack of Bridgeport, OH; longtime companion, George Dusick of Wheeling; two sisters, Edith Dowler of Wheeling, and Della Mae Ullio of Meadville, PA; a grandson, Jack Poling Jr. and his wife Gail of Bridgeport, OH; and three great-grandchildren, Shayla, Tyler, and Carley Poling. Friends will be received on Saturday November 3, 2001 from 7-9 p.m and on Sunday, November 4, 2001 from 12-3 and 5-7 p.m at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where services will be held on Monday November 5, 2001 at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Bill Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
