Obituary for:
Bernard E. Cunningham
Age: 89

Bernard E. Cunningham, 89 of Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool, OH died on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at The East Liverpool Convalescent Center # 1 following a brief illness. He was born in East Liverpool on January 5, 1919, a son of the late George B. and Blanche Edna Sloniker Cunningham.

Living most of his life in the area, he was a self employed carpenter, a graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1936; a member of Elks Lodge #258, VFW Post #66, Masonic Lodge 681 and Scottish Rite of Steubenville. Mr. Cunningham was also a veteran of the US Army.

Elma S. “Emmie” Schultz Cunningham, his wife of 64 years died on December 11, 2006.

Bernie is survived by two nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, a brother: William Cunningham preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Sturm officiating. The Tri State Burial Group and the Honor Guard of the West Virginia National Guard will accord military honors.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home in Calcutta on Thursday, two hours prior to the service.
