Bernard Daniel Bucon, 91, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born May 19, 1923 in Wheeling, a son of the late Vincent and Anna Bucon.
Bernard was a retired machinist with Wheeling Corrugating, Marx Toy Co, Warwood Stamping and International Harvester, a WWII Veteran who served proudly in the U.S. Third Army in Europe 1943-1945.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Podeszwa Bucon, six brothers, Louis, Albert, Anthony, Joseph, Chester and Leo Bucon and one sister, Mary Millick.
Surviving is one son, Dennis and his wife Gay of Follansbee, WV; two grandchildren that he was so proud of, Deanna Bucon of Follansbee and Chad Bucon of Charlotte, NC; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Bucon of St. Clairsville, OH; Cecelia Ciripompa and Betty Bucon of Wheeling; a special niece, Patricia Templeton of St. Clairsville, a special nephew, Chuck Millick of Wheeling and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Friends received 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling.
Interment with Military Honors in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
