Barbara T. Bodemann Long, 74, of East Cardinal Street, Wheeling, WV died Tuesday, February 20, 2001 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. She was a graduate of St Joseph Academy in 1944, a graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing in 1947, and joined the Cadet Nurses Corp in 1944 during World War II. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Cathedral Parish, and a member of the Wheeling Hospital Alumni Association. She retired as a registered nurse from the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry Ohio.
She was born in Martins Ferry on October 22, 1926 a daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Rentzler Bodemann.
Surviving is her husband, Armand B. Long, a son, Robert F. Long of Carmel, IN., a daughter, Sr. Judith Long, O.C.D. of the Carmelite Monastary in Baltimore, MD. Two brothers, Leonard and his wife Dorothy Bodemann of Colerain Ohio, Richard and his wife Charlotte Bodemann of Tiltonsville, Ohio. Two sisters, Mary Lou Pucci and her husband Donald of Parma, Ohio, and Regina Young of Warwood, WV, Numerous Nephews and Nieces.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 from 12 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003, Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22, 2001 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, Wheeling with the Rev. Mario Claro as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wheeling Catholic Elementary School, 14th and Byron Streets, Wheeling, WV 26003.
