Barbara Kay “Bobbie Kay” Jeffreys, 61 of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Bellaire, Ohio died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born June 27, 1953 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of Margaret Walters Jeffreys and the late Robert Henry Jeffreys.

Bobbie Kay was a graduate of Bellaire High School, Class of 1971 where she was a member of the chorus; and an avid reader obtaining the Ohio Pupils Reading Circle Diploma in 1964; also a graduate of USA Training/Secretarial Division in 1988 with a Certificate in Business and Secretarial Skills, Perfect Attendance Award and Certificate of Achievement and graduated from Lawton School in Columbus, Ohio in 1989 being a certified word processing specialist, Academic Achievement Award and student tutor.

She was employed by the Marx Toys, Glen Dale, WV from 1971-1976; Bobbie Brooks, Bellaire, Ohio 1977-1986; Accent Builders, Columbus, Ohio as Inside Sales Representative from 1986-1987; Prosort, Inc. as Assistant Supervisor/Trainer from 1986-1989; Wassershrom Office Products as Data Entry Customer Service Representative from 1989-1995; Boise Cascade Office Products as Senior Customer Service Representative from 1995-2000 and Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter & Co/Smith Barney as a Customer Service Representative from 2001-2011.

She was diagnosed with malignant cancer on March 7, 2007 and given six months to live, she continued to work until her health started to fail. Bobbie Kay loved the Lord and her strong faith allowed her to live more than seven years; she enjoyed watching Johnny Carson and reading; her favorite movie was Facing the Giants. She traveled to Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamaica, Florida and Gatlinburg, TN.

She was amember of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Bellaire, Ohio and the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Raymond Jeffreys.

Surviving are her mother, Margaret Jeffreys of Martins Ferry, Ohio; four sisters, Sharon Jeffreys of Bellaire, Ohio, Margaret “Peggy” Paul Lambert of Columbus, Ohio, Pam David Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Annette “Heidie” Jeffreys of Martins Ferry, Ohio. Nieces and nephews, Rob Jeffreys of Columbus, Ohio very special nephew, LaTanya Jeffreys of Cincinnati, Ohio, NaTasha Duane Wilson of Maryland, David “DJ” Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Damon Amanda Jeffreys of Toledo, Ohio, Anthony Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrew Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Maurice “Reese” Jeffreys of Columbus, Ohio. Great nieces and nephews, Curtis Galloway of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rachael Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Taylor Jeffreys of Maryland, Jada Taylor of Tennessee and Ariel Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio. A special cousin, Pearl Ray of Bellaire, Ohio, lifelong friend, Sophie Blanchard of Columbus, Ohio and co-workers, Pat Marshall and Lina Osbourne both of Columbus, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 11 am until time of services at 1 pm with Bishop Michael Tolliver officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

Dearest Rob and entire Jeffreys’ family: We send our heartfelt and deepest regrets to you Rob for the tragedy of losing your very special Auntie Barbara Kay. I know how deeply you loved and admired her and all we can do is to tell you that you are loved and your pain is shared by those you are so close to. May the passing days and months give you strength and help you to move toward healing. BK was especially blessed to have you in her life.
