Aubrey and I worked together at the Naval Base in Norfolk. I liked him and we shared similar names. My prayers are lifted for the family.

Aubrey, the world is truly a better place because of you and your efforts to improve what you could when you could.

Dad, I know you are in a better place now and you will suffer no more.

I will never forget how proud you were when I enlisted in the Navy and later when you could tell people “this is my son, the Chief.” There are few greater feelings than knowing your parents are truly proud of your accomplishments. I am forever grateful to know that you were proud of me.

Your son,

Andrew

Mrs. “C”, please accept my family’s deepst heart felt sympathies with this message on the recent loss of Mr. “C”. For what its worth, I am proud to have known him and I love the family he fathered. I fondly consider Drew to be a brother I never had and by the same token you as a substitute mother, always warmly welcoming Drew’s closest friends with open arms and baked goodies to-boot. I truly look forward to the many more years of having a family-like tie to the Cartwrights – Mr. “C”‘s proud legacy. He will surely be missed as the patriarch of what I sincerely consider to be an honorable and distinguished family having many reasons to continue receiving joy thoughout their lives.

All our best,

-Michael Marrero Kellam Class of ’86 with wife-Kim, stepdaughter-Jade, and son-Miguel

My sincerest sympathies to the family. My father, Bernard Cartwright, and Aubrey’s father, Carson, were brothers. Growing up, I remember seeing Aubrey and Rachael and the family at the reunions in N.C. in August. My thoughts are with you all.
