Anna Newton Enoch returned to the embrace of our Lord on Sunday, June 9. She was born October 7, 1927 in Pottsville, PA, the oldest daughter of Raymond and Mary Newton. Growing up in Vineland, NJ, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School, where she met the love of her life. After graduation and before marriage, she was a supervisor for the Bell Telephone Company. After marriage, she devoted her life to her family and participated in girl scouts, cub scouts, the American Red Cross, US Swimming, the Marine Officers’ Wives Club, PTA, and her civic league. She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, LtCol. John Enoch; her six children and their spouses, John and Pam Enoch; Marianne and Bill Haffey; Kevin and Cheryllynn Enoch; Kathleen and Mike Hinton; Karen Enoch and James Enoch; her fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Margaret Enoch and Dr. Brandon Cummins; Jack and Jillian Enoch; Gene Haffey; Patrick Haffey; Elizabeth and Sean Parkin; Daniel Hinton; David Hinton; Kelsey McCarthy; Christopher and Miriam McCarthy; Emily Vinson; Adam Vinson; Logan Vinson; Isabella Enoch and Jackson Enoch; and her two great grandchildren, Darcy Feliz and Catherine McCarthy. She is predeceased by her great granddaughter, Meredith Parkin. The family will welcome friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Wednesday, June 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church Thursday, June 13 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk.
