JALAD, Anna DiDomenico, 78, of Wheeling WV, passed away on October 20, 2011 at Wheeling Hospital. Anna was born in Beech Bottom WV to Simon and Elsie Petrella DiDomenico and was raised by her step mother Fannie DiNicola DiDomenico from the age of 5 after the passing of her mother. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Thomas, brother in law, John Jalad, sister in law, Sara Jalad, step-sister, Frances Pollock. Anna is survived by her devoted sister, Sister Mary DiDomenico, CSJ, of Wheeling WV, her brother, Simon Phyllis DiDomenico of Wintersville OH, and sister, Vivian Pack of Endwell NY; nieces and nephews: Margaret Jalad and Pierre Jalad and their families, Roumieh, Lebanon; Kevin Maureen DiDomenico and sons Kyle and Kristopher of Westerville OH; Kathi Scott Celestin and daughters Kasey and Karli of Wintersville OH; Kerry DiDomenico of Wintersville OH; Robert Jennifer Pack and children Natalie, Colin and Rachel of Purcellville VA. Anna is also survived by many extended family nieces, nephews and cousins in the DiDomenico, DiNicola, George, John, Strawn , Saseen and Thomas families. Anna was a graduate of St Joseph Academy in Wheeling WV. She was employed at Aetna Insurance and retired from Uwanta Linen after twenty years of service. Anna was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Wheeling WV, serving on the Parish Council and as president of Our Lady of Lebanon Women’s Society where she, an FBI Full Blooded Italian, was in charge of the St. Maron Dinner. Anna and Tom were also active in the yearly Mahrajans. Perhaps you even sampled some of Anna’s wonderful treats at this years event in August. Anna had been to Lebanon five times. The first time she went with her friend Rosella Saseen when, on a side trip to Egypt, they cruised down the Nile with the Mayor of the Gaza Strip. Anna loved her adopted pugs dearly: ‘Fat Boy’, King Tut and “Queen Bee” Cleo. Anna was a loyal friend and was seen as an anchor by so may people whom she encountered. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses and staff of Wheeling Hospital for the care and dedication they rendered to Anna. Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling WV on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 1 to 7 pm where Vigil Service will be conducted at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 2216 Eoff Street, Wheeling WV with Msgr Bill Bonczewski at celebrant. Entombment will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St, Joseph Retirement Fund, 137 Mt St. Joseph Road, Wheeling WV 26003. I WORKED WITH ANN AT AETNA INSURANCE IN THE LATE FIFTIES. SHE WAS VERY NICE TO ME, AND I ALWAYS REMEMBER HER KINDNESS. I WAS NEW IN TOWN. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
