Amelia Marie Kowalesky

KOWALESKY, Amelia Marie, 82 of McMechen, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
She was born in McMechen on May 5, 1926 a daughter of the late Vincent and Bernice Smurek Kowalesky.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a retired employee of WV Garment Co., McMechen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent Kowalesky, Jr., and Walter Kowalesky and a sister, Dolores Kowalesky.
She is survived by her sister in law, Suzette Kowalesky of McMechen and local cousins, Judy Harbert, Tom Jablinske, Mary Beth Ray, Mitchell Durdines and Greg Ray.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm where a vigil service will be held at 2:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30am at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with the Rev. Joseph Hayden, S.J. as celebrant. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
