BENNETT, Alma Mae Smith, 71 of Warwood Avenue, Wheling, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital.
Alma was born June 13, 1930, in Wheeling, daughter of the late William J. and Margaret C. Black Smith.
She was a homemaker; a former employee of L. S. Good Co., a member of the A.A.R.P.; the Seeing Hand Association; and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Bennett, Jr.; two brother, Robert M. Smith and infant brother, Charles Smith; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Bennett.
Surviving are two sons, William R. Bennett and his wife, Terry, of Triadelphia and Paul C. Bennett, III of Wheeling; two daughters, Mary Virginia Campbell and her husband, William, and Linda Kaye Brosh and her husband, Kevin, all of Wheeling; a sister Rita Mikel and her husband, John, of Wheeling; five grandchildren, Jemery W. Bennett and his wife, Jennifer L., Christopher W. Bennett, Amy Jo Campbell, Ashley M. Bennett and Cassandra Campbell; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla J. Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling.
Vigil service at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. James Lacrosse as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
