Allen T. Jeffries
Age 70
Allen T. Jeffries, 70, of S. West Street, Columbiana, OH, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville after a lengthy illness. He was born in Cannonsburg, PA on March 2, 1931, a son of the late Thomas H. Jeffries and Dessie Mariner Jeffries.
Mr. Jeffries moved from Amity, PA in August 2000. While in Amity, he was a dairy farmer and the produce manager at Giant Eagle for over 20 years. He was a charter member of the Rolling Meadows Church of God in Waynesburg, PA where he served on the Board and was a Sunday School Superintendent. When he moved to Columbiana, he attended the Apostolic House of Faith. Mr. Jeffries was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Headley Jeffries, whom he married on January 6, 1951; four sons: Allen T. Jeffries, Jr of Rogers, OH, James ”Melvin” Jeffries of Meyersdale, PA, Joseph K. Jeffries of Columbiana and J. Steven Jeffries of Ossian, IN; four daughters: Pamela Hughes and Anna M. Campbell of East Liverpool, Theresa Hineman of Punxsutawney, PA and April Intorre of Lisbon, OH; five brothers: Harold Jeffries of Waynesburg, PA, Harlon Jeffries of Holbrook, PA, Ralph Jeffries of Jefferson, PA, David Jeffries of Finleyville, PA and Paul Jeffries of Jefferson, PA; three sisters: Margretta Clark of Waynesburg, PA, Jean Jeffries of Waynesburg, PA and Evelyn Fagg of Charlotte, NC; 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, John Jeffries.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Apostolic House of Faith in Columbiana, OH on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 1:00 PM with his son Pastor Allen Jeffries, Jr. officiating.
The family requests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Assoc.
The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
I know he is with the Lord.
