Dear Family and Friends of Alicia,

I was devastated to hear of Alicia’s death. We had talked about death many times recently, but always in reference to me. She told me, “Mark, I don’t know what I’ll do if you die on me.” I told her that she would learn to get along and get through it. Right now I wish I could take my own advice. As I approach my own mortality and see more and more friends die, I keep thinking I will get used to it. The truth is that you never do. My sincere condolences to all that loved her. I know I did. I will never forget her and she will remain with me, in my heart, for as long as I live and beyond. My card simply reads “Friends Forever” and that is the absolute, undeniable truth.

Sincerely,

Mark W Kuefel
