Alice Pauline Dunfee, 80 of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glendale, West Virginia.
She was born November 4, 1931 in Powhatan Point, Ohio a daughter of the late Carl L. and Esther Sailer Dunfee.
Alice was retired from the North American Coal Corporation and was also a former long time employee of the Antalis Clinic. She was a lifetime member of the Powhatan First Presbyterian Church where she served in various church capacities.
She bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis for twenty years with dignity, grace and humor.
Alice is survived by her sister and long term caregiver who was lovingly and devoted during her sister’s twenty year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Eleanor Eileen Dunfee; a special surrogate daughter, Pamela Stottlemyer Hartley and her husband, Ronald L. Hartley of Bellaire, Ohio and surrogate grandsons who affectionately called her Harby, Nicholas Christy Hartley of Columbus, Ohio and Adam Natasha Hartley of Shadyside, Ohio; her beloved caregiver, Mary L. Sammy Baker of Powhatan Point, Ohio and many loving cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 pm with Reverend Gregory Stone officiating.
Interment will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Powhatan First Presbyterian Church, 126 Main Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio 43942.
