Alice Irene "Babe" Wallach – Age 98 – of Tipp City, Ohio. Passed away February 20, 2002. She was born July 16, 1903 to Samual and Elizabeth Drennan Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arthur "Pete" Wallach in 1981. Also preceding her were her siblings: John Smith, Margaret Crawford, and Helen Lewis.
Alice is survived by her four sons: Arthur and wife Lily Wallach of Akron, OH; Herbert and wife Jeanett Wallach of Tipp City, OH; John and wife Joyce Wallach Dayton, OH; and David Wallach of Findlay, OH. She leaves eight grandchildren and their families: Steve and Kim Wallach, Jill and Doug Fisher, John and Patricia Wallach, Wendy and Andy Morano, Bethany and Kelly Fitzgerald, and Kristen Wallach. Also 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in the Brownsville, PA area, Alice married on February 13, 1928 in Cumberland, MD., she moved to Detroit, MI., and later to Toronto, OH., where she dedicated her time to raising her boys. She was very active in the Toronto Band Mothers, and served as a grey lady at the former Gill Memorial Hospital in Steubenville. Moving to Tipp City in 1968, Alice took her first job as a library clerk at Tipp City Library at the age of 65, and served faithfully for 17 years. Her later years were spent enjoying and being a joy to her family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday – February 25, 2002 at the funeral home with Dr. Gabe Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
