Alice Fowles

Alice Fowles, 85, died peacefully July 17, 2001, in Chesapeake Health Care Center.

Mrs. Fowles, the widow of Frederick T. Fowles, was born in County Kilkenny, Eire, on May 10, 1916. She retired after 15 years from civil service at the British Air Ministry in London, England. In March 1975 she immigrated to the United States to be close to her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Voloudakis and her husband, Mike; her son, Peter Fowles and his wife, Donna; four grandchildren, Paul, Marie, Lindsay and Erin; great-granddaughter, Sara; and her sister, Mary P. Worman, of Surrey, England.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am, Friday at the Church of the Ascension by the Reverend Charles Faul. Burial will follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Ascension Chapel on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension Building Fund, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
