SLENSKI, Alfred “Fred”, 91, of Benwood WV, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Wheeling Hospital.
Born in Pittsburgh PA on January 15, 1917, Fred was the son of the late Walter and Laura Martinkoski Slenski.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Benwood WV, and was a former Machinist with Chrysler Corporation, Detroit MI; former employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Benwood Plant; Carroll Cleaners; and was the former manager of Elm Grove Bowling Lanes. Fred was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Anthony, Edward, and Walter Slenski; two sisters, Anna Somers and Stella Lukasevich. Surviving are his wife, Mary Brayec Slenski; one daughter, Lynette Subrick and her husband Karl of Eighty Four PA; two grandsons, Chad Subrick and his wife Michelle and Kurt Subrick and his wife Kristin all of Eighty Four PA; his great granddaughter, Chloe Subrick of Eighty Four PA; two sisters, Wanda Hochaver and Phyllis Slenski both of Lansing OH.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St. McMechen WV on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am at St. John Catholic Church, Benwood WV.
Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery. Wheeling WV

MARY, LYNETT AND FAMLY,
