SCHUBERT, Albert George, 73, of Wheeling, died Wednesday April 7, 2004 at home.
He was born in Wheeling on December 28, 1930, the son of the late George and Genevieve Witsberger Schubert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Schubert in 1971; a brother, James Schubert and two infant sisters.
He retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers branch #66; a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Albert truly enjoyed his hobby of woodworking. He designed and constructed much of the beautiful furniture in his home and he even built his own casket.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Mulcahy Schubert; two daughters: Catherine Tuckosh of Wheeling, Elaine DeVeau of Beltsville, MD; five sons: David Schubert and his wife Pam of Troy, MO., Tom Schubert and his wife Hilary of Ashburn, VA., Albert J. Schubert of Charleston, WV., Philip Schubert of Wheeling, Christopher Schubert and his wife Carrie of Lansing, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Catrina, Jennifer, Michael, Timothy, Nicholas and Mina.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV., there will be no visitation on Easter Sunday.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 12, 2004 at 12:05 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, with the Rev. Larry Dorsch as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Vigil services will be held on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

I was very sorry to hear that Albert died. I worked at the Post Office with him. I was a clerk so did not know him that well., but we always exchanged friendly hello’s

Was sorry about his loss.
