Agnes A. Johnston, 87, of Bellaire, OH died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home.
She was born December 12, 1925 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Herman and Helen Stanko Bonar.
Agnes retired from the office at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Martins Ferry Plant with 30 years of service and was a protestant by faith.
After she retired, she enjoyed making ceramics, setting up old military reunions with her husband Roscoe, and eating meals at Mehlmans and paying in coins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters Violet, Doris, and Dorothy Bonar, Edna Hamilton and Virginia Danley; a brother Clyde Bonar; a nephew Richard Bonar.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years Roscoe F. Johnston; a special niece Loretta K. Woollard of St. Joe; two step children Sandy Dan Fijalkowski of Neffs, OH and Danny Marilou Johnston of Belmont, OH; five step grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Etta Jenkins of Moundsville, WV and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 am with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire.
