Dearest Slick, Toni and Sammy:
I was heartsick when I heard Babe had died—what a wonderful soul she was. Always had a kind word for me when we would be in church and no matter how ill she was, she somehow would hobble into church.
I sent both Slick and Babe a card and pray that it reached her before she died. My sister, Linda, and I deeply loved both of them and I feel our community has lost one of its most admired woman. May God give you peace and strength to face this challenge and Slick, old buddy, I will be visiting you when you get out of the hospital. I miss your great smile when I shop at Krogers and down at the track.
Babe will be with us yet in so many ways; perhaps in another form, the blossom of a fall flower or a butterfly that kisses your cheek or the wind beneath your wings on difficult days. In spirit, she lives on in all of you. We will remember her.
Slick,Toni,Mike and Ross,
Words cannot express our sadness on hearing of Babe’s passing. In spite of her ongoing illness she never lost that spirit that was uniquely hers. Her family was a constant source of happiness for her, especially so when Ross was born.Ross, you were the apple of your Grandmother’s eye,we will always remember how excited she was
when she went “online” and was able to talk to you by computer! We’ll always remember the fun we had through the years at the Blue Angel and later at the Son’s.She and Slick are people we feel lucky to have had in our lives.Slick,we’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
we’ll miss your fiestiness. god speed. thanks for the card games….youll be missed
