A. Dorothy Byers

Age 76

A. Dorothy Byers 76, went to join her savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 3,

2001 at home.

Mrs. Byers was born on July 24, 1924 in New Salisberry, Ohio and was the

daughter of the late William Stark and Bessie Ferguson Stark.

She began her working career at the young age of 13, at the Five/Ten Store in Wellsville, Ohio after her father was killed. She served her country during World

War II by working at the Curtis Wright Airplane Plant in Beaver, Pa. Later she worked at the Sterling China Pottery in Wellsville for ten years. Since 1955, Mrs. Byers was a homemaker and an avid cook. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward A. Byers, whom she married

June 14, 1947; two daughters, Dorothy ”Dottie” Shook and her husband Jim

and Judge Melissa Byers-Emmerling and her husband Fred Emmerling; three grandsons, Jeff Shook, Steven Shook and Byers ”Bo” Emmerling; one granddaughter, Lisa Willis and three great-grandchildren, Harper, Ciara and Elizabeth.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert Stark, Ralph Stark and William Stark, and a granddaughter, Pamela Sue Dimmerling.

Services will be held at Trinity United Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 6,

2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Marsh officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-Maclean-Altmeyer Funeral

Homes on Thursday, April 5, 2001 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM
